Mountain biking in the Austrian alps

The area around the historic town of Kitzbühel is ideally suited for mountain biking. The season runs from mid May to October with either spring or autumn deals making a visit out of season well worth while. Indeed some of the best riding conditions can be found out of high season. Autumn and spring deals.

Trails range from gentle tracks in the valleys suitable for all, to a network of cross country mountain trails and a selection of forest freeride tracks. At the higher altitudes tracks are typically rocky or over open single trail, as you bike down into the tree line trails become steeper through the pine forests with plenty of challenging technical rooty sections. For bike park fans, come to checkout the new freeride lines in Kirchberg, or join us for our weekly trip to nearby Leogang and one of Europes biggest and best bike parks.

Daily rides will be tailored to your fitness and off road abilities with technical riding advice given on harder sections of track. We have it all here! From downhill freaks to families cruising the valley there are numerous routes to guarantee you a great stay in the area. Check out the Gallery for more photos.

For those of you who don't fancy the uphill ride, a choice of up to 15 different gondolas on one card can take you and your bike 900 m out of the valley for a multitude of mountain top rides with great views and BIG descents!. Once on top you have a choice of steady descents on forest gravel roads or a large variety of sustained flowing technical single track back to the valley. For Freeriders it is quite possible to take 5 or 6 lifts in a day meaning over 5000m of descent!

Guiding and rides are organised once you are in Kitzbühel. You get to choose the pace and we find the routes. Or join us on our weekly specials. "Lake for Cake" is a relaxing ride out to the nearby Schwarzsee Lake for a drink. Friday evening is set aside for the "Sunset tour" where we take the evening gondola up to the Hahnenkamm Mountain before heading down with the stunning setting of the "Wilder Kaiser" mountains by sunset.

For the more experienced riders the Ehrenbach Freeride trail and many other singletrack forested routes are just the thing to test your skill. For fitter riders who want to do a bit of leg work, climbs up to 1200m vertical are a very rewarding way to see the back country of Kitzbühel, to soak in the views and enjoy the peace! An experienced guide can help you find the trails that suit your riding. This leaves you to concentrate fully on not only your technique but also the scenery. The perfect way to make the most of your time in the area.
